When working on a project, I add to our Mural workspaces a series of systems thinking and practice prompts. I usually add 5 to 6 that focus on systems in a state of continual transition.
A few days ago, I thought, "Is there a model of models?"
Well, it appears there might be.
Can you see the following models in the model?
Socio-Technical System
Multi-Level Perspective
Adaptive Cycle
Two Loops
Three Horizons
Causal Layered Analysis
Esturaine Mapping
When I look at this model, it prompts me to think,
Our work is a moment in time in the continual transition of a system.
The transition will most likely occur in one sublayer or subsystem, not the whole system (or not in my lifetime, anyway).
The scale of the innovation niches relative to the regime's dominance.
The regime's shapeshift is subtle, really.
How much there is to know about a system in flux and so little time.
How I really love curiousity and how much of a buzz it gives me.
Hats off to the creators of the original models who are helping us, mere mortals, get to grips with our passion and the nuance of our work.
You can find the PDF in my Toolkit/downloads section here.
Love your builds or comments.
